Second Degree Burns – the damage is slightly deeper and some parts of the dermis are injured as well. Treatment for skin burns: The most important thing to avoid in treating skin burns is the use of oil or butter on the burns. If it is a third degree burn, or injury is spread throughout the whole body, or vital parts and face are affected by burn, then go to hospital and seek medical help immediately.

For first degree burns, wash the injury with cool, clean water to lower the temperature and reduce the swelling. Apply aloe vera or antibiotic cream to prevent infections and stimulate healing. Analgesics like paracetamol and ibuprofen can help reduce the pain. To protect the burn area, cover it with a dry gauze.

For second degree burns, wash the injury with clean tap water for 15 minutes. Apply antibiotic creams that are prescribed by your doctor and get some tetanus shots as well. Cover it with non-stick gauze and sunscreen when going outside. Clean, wet cloths can help soothe the burn’s itchy pain. Keep the burn area clean with soap and water. Seek medical help if pus and swelling increases.

Dealing an Oily Face



Having oily skin is not only unsightly but has been a persistent problem for some of us. Doesn’t it make you wonder how after doing everything to achieve that shine free look your face still goes back to having shiny patches? It may be because you’re doing the wrong thing when it comes to caring for your oily skin.

 Here are some important things to remember when dealing with an oily face:

Wash your face with a mild cleanser. Avoid the use of harsh soaps and cleansers which would dry the skin and cause the glands to compensate by producing even MORE oil. The best thing to do would to opt for mild cleansers preferably with antibacterial properties. Do NOT wash your face for more than twice a day unless your face is extremely oily. Excessive cleansing would only strip the skin dry of its natural moisture and stimulate the production of more oil.

Use oil free moisturizers. Since the problem is about the skin being too oily you would definitely not need help making it even more oily by using products which aim to do just this. Choose moisturizers with natural ingredients and those with no alcohol. Alcohol based products would dry the skin and aggravate the problem.

Use cosmetics designed for oily skin.  It is recommended that oil based cosmetics be avoided if you have problems with oily skin. Choose cosmetics which help prevent the production of sebum and those formulated specifically for oil problems.
